Skip the 5 billion chords
The essential chords, shapes, and simple upgrades that actually sound like music.
Most chord books try to show you everything.
Hundreds of shapes.
Pages you'll never use.
No idea where to start.
This isn't that.
This book focuses on:
- the chords you'll actually use
- the versions that actually sound good
- and the small changes that bring them to life
Inside the book:
Essential Chords
The chords you'll actually come back to again and again.
Essential Moving Shapes
Moveable chord shapes you can use anywhere on the neck.
Essential Chord Progressions
Ways to connect chords so it sounds like real music.
Essential Chord Tricks
Simple changes (sometimes just one finger) that instantly upgrade a chord
Essential Strum Patterns
A handful of go-to patterns to bring everything together.
You'll find things like:
Take a basic chord...
add one finger...
and suddenly it sounds like something you'd actually play.
Those moments are all over the book.
This isn't a full method.
It's something you can open up, try something, and immediately sound better.

About Anthony
I’ve been teaching guitar for over 20 years and have worked directly with over 2,000 students.
My books have sold over 10,000 copies, and my videos reach hundreds of thousands of players across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
I’m always looking for the simplest way to make something sound good—and that’s exactly what this book is built around.
The chord book is a valuable tool for those learning the guitar. Diagrams are easy to understand. no more chasing that missing chord. I can find it in the book.
Excellent Chord Book, a lot of different chord diagrams, it takes time to get used to your fingers doing all these different diagrams and shapes. It's worth the money and it's an excellent book to learn from.
I've been very happy with all of Anthony Parker's books. Look forward to more in the future.
The book is full of useful information, especially the tricks, moving shapes, and triads. Since the spine is glued and not spiral, it's difficult to lay the book out in front of me to reference when I practice, hence the one star deduction. Perhaps there's an online version / QR code I missed that would make it easier to cycle through the pages when practicing / learning. Other than that, I found the book helpful.
All Anthony Parker books are straight and to thr point. Explanations are clear without a need to look up musical terms.
